Waikato Milking Systems has created a new partially automated milking system that significantly changes how cups are managed and presented in the milking shed. Called the ErgoPOD, it provides robotic-assisted milking while retaining a human presence in the shed. Unveiled at Fieldays, the invention was recognised at the Fieldays’ Innovation Awards with the Prototype Award.
Carnot Engineers led a team of WMS and contracted engineers over a period from March 21 – June 23 through a program of research, development, prototyping, value engineering and factory design to make this production-ready prototype.
We are pleased to have led this project and congratulate WMS on achieving the Fieldays Innovation Award 2023 at the product launch.
The judges said the ErgoPOD “revolutionises” the way cups are presented and managed in the milking shed.
